Terenzo Bozzone has topped the field at Ironman 70.3 Busselton, adding a fourth triumph in Western Australia to his 2014 70.3 win and back-to-back Ironman Western Australia titles. This also extends his winning streak this year to four races, including three wins in three weeks in three countries (Ironman New Zealand, Ironman 70.3 Bariloche Argentina, Ironman 70.3 Campeche Mexico).
Despite blustery conditions that forced replacing the swim leg with a three-kilometer run and presented strong headwinds on the cycle course, Bozzone used his strong legs to pull ahead of the pack through the latter half of 90 kilometers, building a 10-minute advantage going onto the run. He then held onto the lead throughout the concluding half-marathon to finish more than 11 minutes ahead of Kiwi compatriot Callum Milward, with Craig Alexander rounding off the podium in third place.
